Managing Risk with Jarvis
Jarvis has two built-in risk management tools. Learning to use them in week one will save you money.
Last Updated: March 19, 2026
1. Tags — Only Trade When You See One
- A tag signals that a high-probability setup is forming
- No tag = no trade. Off-tag trading is an emotional trade and exposes you to greater risk
- When there's no tag, you don't need to be doing anything — step away and let Jarvis work
- *We never recommend trading on every tag – see our Understanding Trading Signals guide
2. The Cloud Algo — Your Stop Loss Indicator
- The moment a tag forms, the edge of the Jarvis Cloud is your stop loss
- The cloud width varies by volume and volatility — stop distances typically fall in the 15–25% range
- Set your stop where the cloud tells you, before you enter the trade
- Adjust your stop loss to take more profit as the trade moves
Traders using Thinkorswim can set an auto-stop template that triggers when a trade is entered. Here's how:
- Open your Order Entry panel
- Set Order Type: Stop
- Enter your stop price based on the current cloud level on your Jarvis chart
- Set to GTC (Good Till Cancelled) to keep it active beyond the session
- Submit alongside your entry order
